Rare Armas Trejo Model 3 Pistol, .380, SN# 9763, Elduke Grips, No Mag, See Info
Over 12 years were produced more than one hundred thousand weapons Cal. 22 and Cal. 380. From 1970 by government provision is suspended the manufacture and sale of weapons in Mexico, forcing Mr. Trejo to change business , dedicated to manufacture agricultural machinery for the corn process, as well as spare parts for bicycle and small machinery of all kinds. The "Trejo" are at least some imnovadora weapons and peculiar characteristics, I suppose that due to cessation of its production, we remain without knowing to where they could have arrived.
The Trejo pistol is the smallest automatic, never manufactured. It is powered by direct recoil of short rerun and closed bolt.
This gun is activated by a blowback system and triggers a closed bolt. It was designed to fire short bursts instead of automatic fire, since the capacity of the charger is quite limited. When it was introduced to the Mexican market, there was no prohibition on small caliber automatic pistols, such as the .22 Long Rifle. Its rate of fire is very high, going from 1,300 to 1,400 rounds per minute depending on the type of ammunition used ( greater speed = higher rate of fire). Trejo pistols can satisfy more or less both their defenders and detractors, but the sure thing is that neither leaves impassive.
The National Firearms Act of 1934 reduced the importation of the Trejo pistol in the United States, since the $ 200 firearm tax on Category II firearms was much higher than the original price of firearms. the Trejo. The 1968 Arms Control Act (1968) put an end to the importation into the United States and the Mexican government closed the local production of firearms for private purchase.
The factory that produced the Trejo pistol, along with three more that were dedicated to the manufacture of weapons, were closed in 1970 by presidential decree as a result of social problems that occurred in Mexico between 1968 and 1971, known as Dirty War.
La Trejo was also manufactured as a semiautomatic pistol: Model 2 had a longer barrel and a magazine of 11 cartridges, as well as Model 3 that used 7,65 x 17 Browning and 9 mm Short cartridges. A variant with a large capacity loader was manufactured for the Mexican Army, which used 9 x 19 Parabellum cartridges and had a magazine of 40 cartridges. This variant called Model 2 Special could fire in semiautomatic, short burst or automatic mode."
