Technical Description: Swiss Model 1893 Mannlicher straight pull bolt action, repeating carbine, serial number 1426, caliber 7.5 mm Swiss. Standard military configuration carbine. The round blued barrel is 21 ½ inches in length. The front sight is an inverted V, leaf rear sight, graduated from 400 to 1200 meters. The top of the
receiver is marked with a small Swiss cross and an S inside an oval and S.J.G. NEUHAUGEN and 1426. The bolt appears to have been incorrectly assembled and will not slide into the receiver. The carbine has a detachable box magazine, marked on the bottom 1426. The stock is a light colored wood, the butt has a sling slot. The barrel band has a sling bar on the left side. A beautifully made carbine. Exceptional quality. The bore is excellent. Appears to be in unissued condition. Historical Significance: This carbine was manufactured for the Swiss government by SIG at Neuhausen. Only about 4000 were made and are quite rare today.
