Robert Held is an integral part of the Art Glass Movement in North America. In addition to being widely exhibited throughout the United States and Canada, his work is carried in galleries throughout Europe and Japan. Robert's pieces have also been chosen for distinguished collections such as Roland Michener and the Indusman. The "Perfect Setting" features his goblets which have graced the table of the Governor General of Canada.

Graduating with a masters degree in Fine Arts from the University of Southern California in 1967, Robert instituted the ceramics department at Sheridan college school of design in Ontario Canada.

In 1968, he visited the Penland school of crafts in North Carolina, where he was introduced to and captivated by the art of glass blowing. He returned to Sheridan College inspired and succeeded in launching Canada's first college level hot glass program in 1969. This program led many Canadian artists to become skilled in this medium. Robert left the teaching world, and in 1978 started his own glass studio known as Skookum Art Glass in Calgary, Alberta operating there until 1987. At this time he moved to Vancouver, BC and can continues to enjoy much success there today at his studio Robert Held Art Glass.

A line of blown glass gift items, as well as his own individual creations for the serious collector are featured in fine stores and galleries of distinction.

BUYERS PREMIUM: A 10% buyer's premium will be added to each purchase. If you bid $100.00, you will be charged $110.00 at checkout.

PAYMENT: Accepted forms of payment include Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, local check (under $500) & cash. Vehicle assets must be paid using cash, certified check or wire transfer (Credit Cards are not an acceptable payment method for vehicles). Payment must be made prior to picking any items up.

STAGGARD/GROUP/DYNAMIC CLOSING: The auction will begin closing at 7:07 PM on Wednesday, April 3rd. The closing time of a lot or group of lots will be automatically extended an additional 5 minutes whenever a bid is placed within the last 5 minutes of the lot's closing time and will continue to do so until the timer runs out.

We utilize scheduled load-out by appointment. We will be sending out an email to all winning bidders with a link to sign up for an appointment after the auction is over.

LOAD OUT: Winning bidders may pick their items up at 824 North Scott Ave; Belton Missouri by appointment only during the published load-out times. Some lots will be located at an alternative location. See the lot description for more info. Load Out will be held on Thursday, April 4th from 1 pm to 5 pm and Friday, April 5th from 9 am to 12 pm by scheduled appointment only. Any items left after the specified load-out dates will be considered forfeited unless alternate pickup or shipping arrangements are made. It will be the buyer's responsibility to dismantle & disconnect any and all equipment. Please bring your own tools, labor, packing materials & moving equipment.

SHIPPING: Shipping costs are $12 for materials and handling plus the cost of shipping through USPS and/or UPS. These charges vary depending on the dimensions, weight, and insurance costs. Once the loadout is completed, we will begin packing your items to be shipped as soon as possible. After your items are packed we will charge the card on file and send you an email with your tracking number. The time it takes for us to get your items shipped varies from auction to auction depending on the number of buyers with shipping requests.

WARRANTY & CONDITION OF ITEMS SOLD: All items are sold 'AS IS, WHERE IS, with NO WARRANTY expressed or implied. It is the responsibility of the buyer to determine the condition of the items and bid accordingly. Items part of a court-ordered sale are subject to court approval.

CAUTION: For demonstration purposes, various equipment may be joined. Do not assume a lot consists of more than one item simply because they are connected or pictured together. Please inspect the lot numbers and read the descriptions.

CATALOG DISCREPANCIES: You are bidding on the described item, not the photograph, occasionally the wrong photo may be displayed, always read the item description.

CHOOSE WISELY: We want everyone to get a good deal and most will. However, when you bid on the wrong item or decide an item is not suited for your intended use, our clients are not willing to assume the cost of your mistakes. When in doubt about condition, completeness or suitability for intended use, please bid accordingly.

Server & Software Technical Issues: In the event, there are technical difficulties related to the server, software, or any other online auction-related technologies, Mayo Auction & Realty reserves the right to extend bidding, continue the bidding, or close the bidding.

NEITHER THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE SOFTWARE NOR MAYO AUCTION & REALTY SHALL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR A MISSED BID OR THE FAILURE OF THE SOFTWARE TO FUNCTION PROPERLY FOR ANY REASON. Email notifications will be sent to registered bidders with updated information as deemed necessary by Mayo Auction & Realty.

The auctioneer reserves the right to add or remove items from the auction; split or combine lots; add minimum bids or reserve prices. The auctioneer reserves the right to cancel, suspend, extend, or reschedule an individual item and or auction event or to make changes to the auction closing times or inspection or removal times.
