Austrian Steyr Model 1895 Straight Pull Bolt Action Repeating Magazine Rifle, Caliber 8x50R, Serial Number 411T
Technical Description: Austrian Steyr Model 1895 straight pull bolt action repeating magazine rifle, caliber 8x50R, serial number 411T. Standard military configuration arm. The blued round barrel is 30 inches in length, the front sight is an inverted V, the rear sight has a single folding leaf with elevation bar and is graduated to 2600 meters, and a 300-meter battle sight is provided when the leaf is folded down. The top of the barrel chamber is marked (very faintly) W CROWN 17 in a single line. The number 17 is likely 1917 the year of manufacture. The receiver ring is marked STEYR / M 95, the left side of the receiver is marked 411T, the left side of the barrel is marked 411T. Straight pull bolt with straight handle and round knob. The light colored straight grained wood stock is fastened by two bands secured by screws. The stock belly has the name W. HOPKINS deeply carved in large coarsely done letters. The left butt stock is marked 1248Z. The rear sling swivel is missing. The receiver and bolt are finished bright; remainder of arm is blued. The bore is excellent, the action is sticky. The stock furniture is blued steel. The stock is sound with a few dents only. Historical Significance: None of the Austrian Mannlicher service rifles are used in significant quantity in active military service anywhere today. They were used extensively in World War I and II, however, and still exist in large numbers in the hands of collectors. A short description of each model follows. This weapon, which was made at Budapest as well as Steyr, was the principal Austro-Hungarian rifle of World War I. The M 95 rifle was made in tremendous quantities.

Any items left after the specified load out dates will be considered forfeited unless alternate pickup or shipping arrangements are made. It will be the buyer's responsibility to dismantle & disconnect any and all equipment. Please bring your own tools, labor, packing materials & moving equipment.
